Blazing Sun ! and what about the make-up ? 🥵☀️ EN

Episodes of very high heat are increasing and no region seems spared. I'm not going to start a topic here on global warming, its issues and consequences, but talk about a subject that some may find quite futile but which nonetheless remains a real problem for many, I think ( in any case it is for me, otherwise I wouldn't talk about it ^^).

So it's hot, very hot, the sun is shining. You want to go out (outside) and you want, or need, to wear make-up with everything that may entail, covering foundation, normal foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner…

(If you don't wear makeup, you can just skip the text and look at the rest of my vacation photos which are in illustration 😉 )

How do you avoid feeling melted and sweat quickly ruining all your makeup efforts?

It's not that simple but it's possible, I had the opportunity, especially this year to experiment with long outings, in full sun, at more than 30°c, and even if that is not necessarily always fun, it's possible.

Some advice from my personal experience and cross-checks that I was able to do while looking for more information on this - real - problem because there are already quite a few general articles on this subject. I specify that I am not at all an expert, even if I start to have a little practice I do not do everything “well”. Comments are open if you have any other ideas/tips.

My steps for applying make-up and keeping your make-up in place when it's over 30°c:
  1. The skin is prepared with the application of a Primer which becomes even more essential when it is hot. It preps skin, blurs blemishes, and prevents makeup from seeping into pores.
I didn't, but it is also recommended to put on sunscreen, before anything else. Obviously, you have to have and take the necessary time between the application of the different products.

  2. You can do your foundation as usual with your usual foundation(s), a fluid foundation for me.

  3. Loose, translucent powder is one of the best allies, I think. Already in normal times but even more when it's hot. It not only sets makeup but also absorbs shine from heat and perspiration. For my part, I do not always do it usually, but I took my powder and my brush in my bag for possible touch-ups during the day.

  4. In addition to the powder, you can add fixative spray, to spray on the face. For my part, I find that it is especially useful for the eyes (remember to close them before applying anyway), the powder already doing a lot of work for the foundation.

  5. For the eyes precisely, we favor products, especially eyeliner, waterproof. I use it in felt, I find it more practical.

  6. Here we go ! We look for the shade, the wind, and if possible we control our efforts so as not to sweat too much... if the idea is to go for a jog when it's 35°c (already it's not a good idea) but even with the best products and techniques I'm not sure that the makeup can resist^^

  7. In the previous article, I said that in your suitcases it is important not to forget the tissues. We find them here to (delicately) mop up the small drops of perspiration as soon as they appear so as not to ruin the make-up... and then once in the shade, small mirror, touch-up, powder if necessary.

  8. By car, if you have air conditioning it is ideal, but do not forget to ventilate well at the start before it takes effect. If you don't have air conditioning, we open everything, we look for air and we add a small fan if it's not enough.

And you, how are you doing ? If you want to share your personal experience or give more advice, do not hesitate to do so in the comments (For the blog, registration is free ^^)
